Terms and Conditions of Membership of this Mary Hare History 2 forum

Purpose
This is a "private" forum is primarily for old pupils, staff, sixth formers, of Mary Hare Grammar School (MHGS), to enable virtual communication via the internet.

Membership
To have access to the forum, read and make posts, guests must register. Membership is restricted to old pupils, staff, and sixth formers, of MHGS, Mary Hare Secondary, and Mary Hare Sixth Form.

Conditions of Registration
It is now a condition of registering for membership to enter a Real Name (which must be entered in full, with both first and last names) as well as Years Start and Left, so that the administrator, moderators, and other members may be able to recognize a new member as a genuine old pupil, staff, or sixth-former of Mary Hare Schools. The Administrator will check name and years against the list of old pupils, and once verified, will manually activate the new member. This should be within an hour during afternoon and evenings, otherwise within 24 hours at most . Any member joining who is later discovered to be not genuine will be banned.

Range of Topics
We may talk about topics relating to the history of the school, or memories of our times there. We may also talk about things that are off topic, such as sports, arts, and computers, and there may be some occasional mature (but not sexually explicit) content.

Moderation
The forum is currently moderated by the administrator, in a reactive manner, that is he will responds only when he reads a post that he deems offensive, or a member makes a complaint to the administrator.

Opinion
The posts shall express the opinion of the individual member, and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the webmaster, administrator, or that of Mary Hare Schools, or Mary Hare Alumni.

Law
All posts shall be comply with the Laws of the United Kingdom.

Copyright
Posts shall comply with UK copyright laws, and members shall not post copyrighted material unless they own that copyright or have the consent of the copyright holder.

Respect
Posts must not be offensive with respect to sex, sexual orientation, age, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, disability, nor should posts be false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, threatening, name-calling, nor invasive of a person's privacy (eg. members shall not reveal another member's address or phone numbers).

No spam
Also prohibited are spam, flooding, flaming, trolling, chain letters, pyramid schemes, commercial advertisements (with the exception of member's own businesses, deaf community, and alumni events), and any advertisements unrelated to the deaf or hard-of-hearing community.

Usernames
Members may choose their username, but it shall not be vulgar, nor closely resemble another user name, and shall consists of alphanumeric characters (and not symbols) and shall not be in "L33T". They may, if they so wish, fill out a detailed profile which other members may view. The administrator may amend usernames that are vulgar, "L33T", or resembles another member's username.

Avatars
Avatars shall be still or animated images, and be in .jpg, .gif, or .png format, have a maximum height of 120 pixels and maximum width of 100 pixels, and have a maximum file size of 50 KB. Avatars must not be sexually explicit, nude, topless, nor contain disturbing images. The administrator may refuse avatars that break this rule.

Images
Attached or linked images may be still or animate images, and be in .jpg, .gif, or .png format. Linked images shall have a maximum height of 120 pixels and maximum width of 100 pixels, and have a maximum file size of 50 KB. Attached image shall have a maximum file size of 500 KB. Images must not be sexually explicit, nude, topless, nor contain disturbing scenes. The administrator may delete images that break this rule.

Links
Members may make links to external websites within their post. The webmaster, administrator shall not be responsible for the content of external sites. There shall not be any links to illegal websites, adult websites, online gambling websites, hate websites (eg fascist, racist), malware, spyware, nor should members link to shock images, or similar pranks. Members may only make links to audio, flash, or video media webpages, if they provide give information about the link, eg type of media, title and brief description of content.

Number of Accounts
Members may enrol using only one account. That is, members shall not use two or more accounts for whatever reason. The administrator will delete any secondary accounts.

Sanctions
Any posts, images, and links, that go beyond the bounds of this terms will be deleted, and members warned, and member's post count reduced by at least 1, and if members persist in infringing the terms, may be banned. In case of a major infringement, such as pornography, or spyware, the administrator may ban on the first offense.

IP address
Please note that with each post, members IP address is recorded, in the event that member(s) need to be banned from this YaBB forum or member(s) ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
